Kids Afraid of the Dark? No Worries Thanks to the One and Only Brobo!

Trex Shine Force Kids Afraid of the Dark? No Worries Thanks to the One and Only Brobo! I must admit, I am pretty lucky so far to have three little ones who LOVE bedtime. Sounds weird huh? My kids actually cry to go to bed, and they even go nice and early at around 6:30; sometimes even six! While they do wake up at 6 am the next morning, I am glad I was able to establish a solid routine early on with them. However, if your kids are not as cooperative as mine are in the bedtime department I have a new toy that is sure to soothe them; introducing the Brobo.

What is Brobo?

Ok, so the name Brobo sounds a little funny, but the actual product, and his friends are genius! The one and only Brobo is based on a series of characters from the very educational Brobo books, and cartoons. Brobo, and his lovable plush friends came about from artwork originally created in Toronto. The Brobo “Shine Force” idea was invented in Calgary, and perfected in toy markets across the world. With safety, and superior craftsmanship in mind, Brobo hopes to bring the light of joy to children around the world.

My Thoughts: 

The makers of Brobo, Kim Blair, and Jeff Lai were very generous in sending me a character from their line of Brobo plushes which includes: Brobo, Pep, Dog, Mumu, and Trex. We were lucky enough to receive Trex in for my little 11 month old son. Keeping in mind that this product ships from Canada, I have to say that it arrived quickly, and safely packaged. Inside, we found a large, soft, bright orange Trex Plush with a cute belly.

We have kids so batteries are a must have in our home at all times. This plush takes three AAA batteries to make his light-up belly work. The battery compartment is inside in back end, and closes with velcro.  Trex is designed for ages 18 months and up so we only used batteries for testing purposes, and did not leave them in because my son is very curious. I feel like this product is adorable, and perfect for kids even without his main light features.

My little man loved his Trex plush so much. He is at the age where he throws everything, and that was no exception with this plush! I could barely even snap a good picture of him snuggling it because he wanted to fling him as far as his little arms could throw. It just so happens that he matched his little Trex by dressing in orange, but that only lasted about an hour (kids make huge messes!).

I know as my son grows older this toy will be more appreciated, and possibly needed. I would love the get my girls the Pep Shine Force Plush because I know they would love her!

Fresh Produce Clothes Is Clothing from the Company Fresh Produce Clothes Worth Purchasing? As a mother to three little children, I am constantly purchasing clothing for every season. My kids my are growing like weeds, and I find myself hardly being able to keep up with their wardrobes. While I am a pretty frugal person, I am not crazy second hand clothing, and like my kids to have all the latest styles. Since my girls are at the age where they love dresses, and dressing alike I am a sucker for a cute, stylish dress. In my online travels for Summer apparel, I came across the company Fresh Produce Clothes.

With a catchy name like Fresh Produce, I had to click into their storefront. I am one of those people who love to learn about a company before checking their items out, so I read their “story”. Apparently, they are a woman & children’s lifestyle brand that prides themselves with brightly colored clothing. Their items are primarily made in the US, and feature unique, colorful designs that are in style, and season. They even carry plus sizes which I find to be awesome because not everyone is a toothpick!

My Thoughts:

Fresh Produce generously allowed me to chose one item for review, and I decided to go with a dress for my 6 year old. While searching the girl’s section of the easy to navigate site, I came across a dress that really caught my eye. The Girls Ruffle Tank Dress in Aquarium {currently retails for $34} made me smile, and yearn for summer; I just had to have it! My daughter is really tall, and thin so I decided to go with a size large just based off off her height.

When  my Fresh Produce Dress arrived I was so excited to open it up, and see the bright, Summery print in real life. In my days I have come across a lot of children’s clothing that is marketed to be “all that”, but in reality is junk. I have to say that is not the case with Fresh Produce Clothing! My daughter’s dress was perfect in every way, and was just as pretty, and soft as I had imagined it to be. I love the subtle ruffles, and flow of the dress, and the way it falls on my child. The arm pit area is a little big because she is thin, but after a wash and dry it should shrink a little bit.

My daughter who can unfortunately be picky about her clothing loved the brightly colored fish on her dress, and loved showing off her attire. Unlike some girls dresses, the Girls Ruffle Tank Dress in Aquarium was not itchy, tight, or uncomfortable. The dress has a nice, natural flow that is perfect for warmer months. Paired with some cute sandals, this is one dress every little girl can totally pull off!

I give Fresh Produce Clothing two thumbs up, and would most certainly purchase more items from them in the near future! Tablets, and computers seemed like a grown up thing, and the last thing I want to do is rush my kids growing up! My parents didn’t buy us a family computer until I was 14, and I turned out alright. Well, recently I realized that times have changed and delaying the inevitable will surely backfire! With that being said, I caved in and my 6 year old now owns her first laptop.

After much contemplation, and hours scouring the web for reviews on several different computer models I learned a few things. Most importantly,  I decided I definitely did not want her to have a better computer than me! She is just a kid, and having something small, inexpensive, and functional was ideal. Secondly, I wanted something modern, but not too advanced or high tech. My daughter just turned 6 so she certainly didn’t need all the frills some electronics boast.

Our Final thoughts:

Our Android 4.0 WOLVOL (Girls PINK) NEW 7″ inch Mini Laptop Netbook arrived quickly by USPS Priority mailed. It came with a super cute velvet case that snuggly holds the laptop. It also came with a small optical mouse, and a charging cord. My only downfall with this product is that the charging cord is really small, but aside from this everything about the product is great!

WOLVOL PINK LAPTOP Check out our Review of the 4.0 Andriod WOLVOL (Girls PINK) NEW 7 inch Mini Laptop NetbookA few things that come to mind about this product that I’d like to share is that first and foremost it is pink! This is even my dream to have  apink laptop, so WOLVOL hit the nail on the head with that one. Secondly the Mini Laptop Netbook comes with social media sites Facebook, Twitter on the homepage. While my daughter sure the heck is too young for them, I think this is a great feature for older teens, and so on. There is not age limit to this product, and even I use it!

Another things I love about my daughter’s Android 4.0 WOLVOL  (Girls PINK) NEW 7″ inch Mini Laptop Netbook is that is plays Netflix movies. In fact, Netflix is even pre-installed and all you have to do is log onto your account, and stream. This feature is great for my kids because they can watch their own shows, or movies in different rooms, and the picture quality, and sound is impressive!

Overall, both my daughter, and I are beyond satisfied with the Android 4.0 WOLVOL  (Girls PINK) NEW 7″ inch Mini Laptop Netbook. It is perfect for her age of size, lightweight, easy to carry, and store, and looks great! The computer is also fast, and is great for playing games, and it also has a camera perfect for Skyping! My daughters, husband, myself, and even my little guy all have nice thick heads of hair. Unfortunately my girls take after me and have inherited some frizzy little mops of hair. I find myself having to use loads of conditioner, and hair products in their hair to tame their puffy do’s.

I was so happy to have recently had the opportunity to review some hair products from one of my favorite companies. I have been a huge fan, and customer of the got2Be brand since I had my first job. They have the perfect hair styling products for all hair types, and looks. I love their colorful bottles, and trustworthy formulas because they help me achieve my desired hairstyles.

The first thing I loved about these products was their alluring packaging. The bright orange, pinks, blues, and greens made me super excited to see if they worked! I had two perfect models to test these products out on; my daughters! As you can see, both my 3, and 6 year old have frizzy, wild hair that could use some tamer!

Girls before Have Frizzy, Untamed, Wild Hair? You Must Try got2b Products! I applied the Kinkier-Double Curling Power Gloss ‘n Define Cream to my three year old who has naturally curly hair. The thing about my little Ms’s mop (hair) is that it can get so frizzy and look like she got electrocuted. got2b’s Kinkier Curl Cream smelled great, and allowed me to twist and define her curls, and make them look cute! Even three hours later on a humid day her hair still looks super adorable!

My eldest daughter used to have a head of banana curls, but now has a head of frizzy blonde hair. I used the got2b Oil-Licious product in her hair to give it a nice sleek, frizz free look. As you can see, her ponytail is very sleek, bouncy, and not weighed down. I suggest just using  a small amount of this product to prevent hair from looking like it has’t been washed in ages.

I know these days, many families including myself seem to be affected by this sometimes frustrating  condition. There is not a week that goes by that I don’t feel annoyed, or even aggravated by the lack of companies who support, and cater to people with food allergies. Thankfully, there are companies like Namaste Foods that make meals, desserts, and breads for people who suffer from food allergies.

A little about Namaste Foods: 

Namaste Foods is a small but growing company that has been in business since 2000. They are very consumer focused, and are very supportive of people who have food allergies. Their manufacturing facility contains no wheat. gluten, corn, soy, potato, peanuts, tree nuts, or dairy. Amazingly, all their products ARE kosher certified, and they do not use GMO ingredients!

Pasta Pisavera Namaste Foods ARE Delicious & Food Allergy Friendly! A Review & Giveaway! As a consumer I can truly appreciate their efforts to provide the best value for my hard earned dollar. From experience I am learning that many gluten free foods are sky high in cost, and contain very little servings. However, it is Namaste’s goal to provide their customers with higher yielding products. For example, their Spice Cake Mix contains enough for two rounds, and not just one! I also noticed their Pasta Pisavera contained enough for my children’s lunch and dinner.

Our Experience:

My family first fell in love with Namaste products when we purchased a bag of their Spice Cake Mix at our local market. Not only was this product free of my daughter’s gluten, and wheat allergy, but it was delicious. The taste was wonderful, and the cake was moist, and all around scrumptious. I really have to stress the “delicious” part because unfortunately there are a ton of gluten free foods that taste like cardboard! There have even been some so horrid that I just couldn’t justify spending my time to review them.

Thankfully, Namaste foods allowed us to officially work with them and review their Pasta Pisavera, and their Cookie Mix. I really love that they also allowed us to host a giveaway for our readers. This is one company that I want to shout form the roof tops about because they actually care about people’s well being. They are not all about the money, and that is rare to find these days.

Gluten free pasta pisavera Namaste Foods ARE Delicious & Food Allergy Friendly! A Review & Giveaway! My kids LOVED the Pasta Pisavera so much that I now have to buy it weekly. My kids generally go nuts for pasta, so to have a pasta product that is so versatile, and welcoming of additions like cheese, vegetables, and protein is great! I really loved that they included an Italian Spice pack inside  because it completed the dish! I also decided to throw in some chicken, and shredded cheese, but the additions, and possibilities are pretty much endless!

As far as their cookie mix goes, I have not tried it yet, but I am excited to! We have been recently trying to cut back on baked treats so that is the only reason we have not yet made these cookies. I do love that these cookies are said to be great alone, or with additions like chocolate chips, and candy pieces. I guess it really depends on what add- ins you can tolerate with your allergy. I will sure to update you all when I make these cookies!

Overall, after trying a couple Namaste Foods products, I can say that I am definitely a long term customer. I wish my local store carried all their gluten-free foods, but Namaste products are conveniently available both in-store, and online which is reassuring. You should really check out their site to see just how many great items they make! I know I must try their Muffin Mix, and Waffle and Pancake Mix!

Crazy schedules, tons of homework studying, and unhealthy eating. Fast food joints became my go-to spot for meals on the go. Unfortunately, my freshman 15 weight gain, quickly turned into a Sophomore 30! I must have put on around 50 lbs during my college years, and that is not even a joke! I sure could have used some guidance and inspiration form the  book “Students Go Gourmet”.

I recently received this book to review, and was pretty eager to see why it would make the perfect gift, or cooking guide for college students. At first glance of “Students Go Gourmet” by Sophia Khan & Dr. Ellen Bass I thought the cover of the book was very appealing. Inside, I found a variety of recipes that truly do require ingredients that are relatively inexpensive, and easy to find. Each recipe featured a realistic picture of what your dish should look like.

This instructional book also comes with a very helpful DVD that guides readers on cooking 13 recipes. I consider myself a good cook, but know tons of people both adults, and teens who could benefit from this helpful book. Since students are usually not the wealthiest of people, each recipe also displays the average cost to prepare each meal. They also clearly display the amount of servings per dish.

Even though I have years under my belt when it comes to cooking, I still found some great inspiration from my copy of the ”Students Go Gourmet” book. This cookbook features a great table of contents, and a list of bare necessities (cooking tools) which students should have in their pantry. It also lists an entire section of pantry must-haves, and gourmet food lingo to help any student cook in a healthy “gourmet” manor.

I found it very helpful and convenient to have recipes laid out by categories like finger foods, salads, gourmet sandwiches, and more! It makes it very easy for the user to locate a recipe for any occasion! I particularly enjoyed seeing the photos of each recipe because most cookbooks do not contain a photograph for every recipe.

A few of my favorite recipes that I will be making thanks to “Students Go Gourmet” is the Parmesan Crisps, Garlic Shrimp Orzo, and the Memphis French Toast Sandwich. All these recipes feature common ingredients, and a great step by step tutorial on how to make them. You can also figure out how much money your cooking efforts will cost per recipe!

Overall,  I am confident that this would make a wonderful graduation gift for high school students who love to cook, or who will be attending college. “Students Go Gourmet“ will give your recipient the inspiration, and guidance to stay clear of unhealthy eating, and fast food. I really wish I had this book when I was in school because it would have encouraged me to eat healthier, and cook gourmet!

I never discriminate when it comes to trying new brands, and am willing to give anything a whirl. Now that I’m in my late twenties (eekk) I have been amping up my skin care routine to prevent, and slow down the aging process. When my latest skincare review arrived from Mia Mariu I was very eager to see what makes their products stand out from the competition.

A Little about Mia Mariu:

Their products are natural, and healthy beauty products which are available both online, and through independent advisers. From fragrances to eye shadows, Mia Mariu has everything you need to look and feel fabulous! Plus, you can earn a nice income while working from the comfort of your own home!

My Thoughts:

Mia Mariu generously sent me three full sized skincare products, a catalog, and a few samples. I was able to try the following skincare routine must haves:

  • Anti Agining Refreshing Foaming Gel Cleanser
  • Anti-Aging Brightening Serum
  • Anti-Aging Eye Cream

Since I noticed my nose freckles have been seemingly increasing I was very eager to try the brightening serum. I know no cream works like magic so I wasn’t expecting miraculous results immediately. I took a realistic approach with my Mia Mariu products because I am not one of those people who expect things to happen overnight. As a product tester I realize it takes time for things to work, and a longer period of time to achieve desired results.

After 3 weeks of using the Mia Mariu Anti-Aging trio of products I noticed my skin feeling smoother, more uniform, and supple. I still have freckles, but yes they are lighter. They have not disappeared, but I do believe with a more continued approach they will lighten drastically, and maybe go away?

As far as my skin type goes, I have normal skin, and I do not suffer from acne, or oily skin. For me, these products were a good match, and not at all overly harsh. I would like to note that I did not use the Foaming Cleanser daily. I used it twice a week because it was a little drying, but that is to be expected. I normally tend to just use water on my face, and that keeps my skin looking great! As with anything, your routine  should consist of products that work best for your skin type, and body.

Overall, I am pleased with Mia Mariu’s skin care products because they agreed with my skin, were very generous in product amount, and are relatively inexpensive. I suggest you take a look at their alluring online catalog because so far, their products are keepers for me! I would love to eventually try their cosmetics now that I know their products are made with quality ingredients. You must see their awesome products yourself!

As with any new piece of kitchenware, I thoroughly washed each glass and dried them before use.

At first glance, these glasses seemed as if they were made of plastic because they were so neat!! However, they are actually made of double walled glass which is surprisingly strong. After inspecting my glasses, I immediately noticed that the glass in which they are made from is thick enough to be durable, and not so fragile while handling.

My Experience:

When my Proctor Silex 2 Speed Commercial Bar Blender arrived, I was pretty excited! This meant that I would no longer have to make little frozen drink batches in my bullet blender. If you don’t know what that is like consider yourself lucky because quite frankly it sucks! I couldn’t wait to see what a frozen margarita was like at home-I was kinda getting sick of doling out the cash for convenience pouches!

So the next best thing my Proctor Silex 2 Speed Bar Blender could make me was a nice frozen Strawberry Smoothie. I added my ingredients which included frozen strawberries, yogurt, and juice. The true test on this light weight bar blender would be how easily, and quickly it would turn my ingredients into a sweet, semi frozen concoction.

I put everything in the very simple to operate unit, flipped the neat switch to high, and guess what!? My smoothie was done in less than 20 seconds!
