I know some of you probably don’t even care, but it is kind of therapeutic to write about my busy pregnant life. I have also included some background info since this is my first time “formally” writing about my pregnancy”.

Just in case you are new to my page, or do not know too much about me, my name is Amy, and I am a married 27-year-old mother to two girls. My little girls are 5, and 2 years old, and their names are Makenzi Star, and Khloe Sky. They are quite the handful, but I love them to pieces. I have been married to my love, Jared for almost 6 years (May), and we are expecting and third, and final child Blake in less that 8 weeks!

Ok so back to the pregnancy update…I get sidetracked so easily! Well, this week marks my 32 week of pregnancy, and I am feeling every bit of it! My children always tend to be in the 90% percentile for size at around this time, and little Blake is no exception. My little boy already was a full 5lbs at just 30 weeks!! I guess I feed my kids pretty darn good…well at least his weight can account for some of the 20 pounds I have gained thus far–yikes!!

At my routine appointment today the dr. checked me because I have been having extreme pelvic pressure, and mild contractions. Thankfully my little boy was high up, and I was not dilated at all! My last baby came a full month early so I am a little paranoid my latest child might follow suit. Since my boy is so big, I now have to have his weight monitored weekly via US ( ultrasound).

As far as being ready for his arrival, I think I am ready, but since he is a baby boy, I am not really sure what to expect. I was blessed with two great sleepers in the past, and I hope this baby at least takes after his sisters in that sense.

I keep having little nightmares about giving birth because I had such traumatizing experience from my last two kids. I opted for the epidural for both of them but of course both attempts were considered “epic fails”. The first epidural I received for my daughter was placed in my spinal cavity rather than where it was supposed to go so I had a debilitating headache for three days straight until they were able to give me the “blood patch”-take 8 oz of blood from my arm, and replace the fluid into my spinal cord. Needless to say that was probably more painful than giving birth to a 9.2 little girl!

My second daughter was born one month early so my labor was much different with her. They did everything they could to try to stop labor, but of course my baby was ready to come. At one point they even discharged me to go home, and sit in a hot shower. Who in the world would want to sit in a freaking hot shower while in labor? Needless to say I made it as far as the parking lot, and turned around because my baby was coming. They reluctantly re-admitted me, and my true labor signs started to show.

Of course the hospital staff didn’t take me seriously when I said I was ready for my epidural. It seemed as if time just stopped, but the pain increased while waiting for the anesthesiologist to come. Do they seriously just have one for the entire hospital??? …that’s how it seems!! Well when she finally came, and was able to insert the needle. However I secretly felt an incredible urge to push my baby out. As she laid me back to make sure my epidural stood in place I knew it was time to push, and push is what I did. I pushed soo hard that my water exploded over everyone (gross yes). Literally two minutes later my baby girl was born…the bed, or doctor were not even prepped!! The meds kicked in 15 mins later -what a help….

I truly hope this birth goes a little smoother, but as long as my baby is born healthy, and safe I guess I will endure whatever pain I need too. Stay tuned for an update in two weeks icon smile Birth Stories
