Throughout my CVS Blog posts you might see me refer to ECB’s or “Extra Care Bucks”. If you are a beginner, and are not too familiar with these awesome little rewards I will explain a little about them.
To get Extra Care Bucks for purchasing qualifying items you must first apply for an Extra Care Card. An Extra Care Card is a little plastic red card that is quick and painless to sign up for at CVS. If you do not have one of these cards I suggest you sign up for one at the register before purchasing your items so that you will be able to take full advantage of sale prices, and promos.
After signing up you will receive three Extra Care cards, a traditional sized card, and two key ring cards for quick easy access to you card. Before using your card for future trips Always remember to scan it at the magic red coupon/price checker station. They are very easily marked and print out awesome money saving coupons and dollars off ones as well.
How Do I Get Extra Care Bucks?
You get Extra Care Bucks from buying valid items that are on sale and produce these savings. For example if a certain drink was on sale for $1.99 and you received $1.00 Extra Care bucks. A little Extra Care Buck, which is simply a CRT- or Coupon on the register tape will appear on the bottom of your sales receipt and will be good on you next purchase. These coupons do have an expiration date so pay close attention to that.
You also get Extra Card Buck rewards at the end of each quarter. The total amount of the buck depends on your percentage of sales you made in that particular quarter. You Earn 2% back with every purchase in-store and online at CVS/pharmacy.
Earn 1 Extra Buck for every 2 prescriptions purchased in-store and online at CVS/pharmacy.
Tips/Tricks- I always try to roll my ECB’s. Rolling means to simply use extra care bucks on items that produce extra care bucks back. For instance if you received 10.00 in Extra Care Bucks it would be wise to matchup a sale (which I will be doing on this site) that will come to $10.00, or as little over as possible. ECB’s DO NOT PRODUCE CHANGE back. You would ideally want to purchase items that would give you either the same or a greater amount of ECB’s back. Using coupons in addition to ECB’s helps to make some transactions MM’s or Money Makers. ECB’s can be used with other ECB’s as well as store and Man. Coupons (manufacturers).
ECB’s -Excludes alcohol, tobacco, lottery, gift cards, money orders, postage stamps, pre-paid cards, prescriptions, and special order Home Health Care items, including footwear.
